Confidently guiding others through change – as a leader, coach, or consultant
Change can be planned. Transition – the inner path through a change – has to be lived through. "Transition Guide" is a training for leaders, coaches, consultants, and anyone currently in the middle of a profound change and looking for orientation – for themselves or for others.
Over a day and a half, you'll build a clear understanding of why change so often meets resistance, how to make sense of different response speeds in yourself and the people around you – and how to give people orientation without pretending to offer control.
The focus is on the distinction between change and transition according to William Bridges, the psychological mechanisms behind it – the need for autonomy and loss aversion – the four levels of change (cognitive, emotional, physical, identity-related), and the change curve as an explanation for why people respond at such different speeds.
The focus is on your own role as a Transition Guide: giving orientation without pretending to offer control. You'll practice guiding others in a protected exercise setting, work on language and stance when facing resistance, and develop your own transition plan for an upcoming or ongoing change.
Each content phase combines a short expert input with immediate application to a real, current change in your own life. Insight emerges from the interplay of input and experience – not from theory alone.
For leaders, coaches, and consultants who guide others through change – and for anyone currently in the middle of a profound change of their own, looking for orientation. The group is deliberately kept small.
